Get Involved

Family and community engagement is vital to our continued success. We invite you to become involved with our school division and experience our rich tradition of excellence first-hand. Whether serving as a volunteer, becoming a business partner, participating on an advisory council, or simply attending one of the hundreds of events held at our schools throughout the year, your support will ensure Hanover County Public Schools remains the leader in public education.

HCPS uses the Raptor Visitor Management Program as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. This system will allow volunteers to apply online and track volunteer hours automatically once you have completed the approval process.

To get started, you will need to complete a volunteer application online using the link below. Please note the following:

- Raptor screens all volunteers against the National Sex Offender Registry to ensure student safety.
- There are multiple types/functions available in the application. Choosing the “Volunteer” type allows you to participate in general activities and volunteering at our schools.
- Athletic Coaches, University Practicum Students and PTA/PTO/Booster Presidents & Treasurers will undergo additional screening, and should choose one of those specialty types/functions.
- Athletic Coaches and PTA/PTO/Booster Presidents & Treasurers will need to upload a document during application affirming their approval in these positions; these letters can be obtained from each school’s front office or volunteer/athletic coordinator.
- Raptor applications must be completed each school year.

PTA/PTO/PTSA

Students holding sign that reads Thank you veterans

Our parent-teacher groups are committed to the success of every student at their school. Our PTAs/PTOs/PTSAs host fundraisers that help support programs, equipment, and other needs at our schools. Together, they work on issues that directly affect each child in our schools. The more involved parents and guardians are in their child’s education, the more successful that child will be.

Please contact your child’s school to get involved today!

Volunteer

Volunteers are essential to the mission of Hanover County Public Schools (HCPS). We are grateful for all who devote their time and talents to our school division and students, and we invite you to join us! To get started, be sure to complete the volunteer application using the links above.
